SWINGIN’ AT THE SAVOY
Swingin’ at the Savoy, are a fun, entertaining and energetic new jazz/swing band playing infectious jazz party music from the 1920’s-1940’s, including their own original material. The members of Swingin’ at the Savoy have a great deal of experience in playing many styles of jazz and are well sought-after musicians, both in Western Australia and overseas.
Randa Khamis – Lead vocal
Randa is an internationally acclaimed singer and songwriter. An ex WAAPA student, she has released two singles and two albums worldwide on London label, Freestyle Records. Her music has been used on US television show, Skins. She is frequently invited interstate and overseas to perform, and has played shows extensively across the UK, Spain and France. Most recently, she performed in the Brunswick music festival, in the performance, Women of Soul. Randa has supported Lionel Richie, singing to 12,000 people, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings and UK DJ Craig Charles’ Funk and Soul Show.
Barnabus Courtauld – Drums
Barney sudied jazz at WAAPA; he has three years’ experience playing in the iconic Corner House Jazz Band in Perth. He has also performed in a variety of genres, such as funk, samba and alt rock and has extensive experience performing in Thailand.
Mark Wearing – Saxophone
Mark is a talented multi-instrumentalist, playing saxophone, clarinet, accordion and keyboards. He is also a trained audio engineer and plays accordion in the gypsy jazz band, Voudou Zazou. Mark composes music scores and his music can be heard on television and movie soundtracks.
Chris Dombrose – Guitar
Chris Dombrose (ex WAAPA) is a multi-instrumentalist and singer. A versatile musician, he is equally comfortable playing guitar, piano, bass, accordion or Greek bouzouki and has performed in a wide variety of styles. This includes leading a Hendrix-esque guitar-driven rock trio; channelling Bob Dylan with solo acoustic guitar and harmonica; and playing bouzouki in a family trio sharing the music of Greek icon Vasilis Tsitsanis.
Sid Hennessy – Double bass
Sid has studied under the legendary double-bassist, Geoff Chalmers and has performed extensively in the UK, Japan and around Australia. He is also a singer and songwriter, playing to audiences of up to 12,000 people. Sid also plays double-bass in the gypsy jazz outfit, Voudou Zazou and ska/calypso band, the Isolites. He is regularly invited to recording sessions playing double-bass, electric bass and acoustic bass guitar, in a diverse range of musical genres.
Departures and Arrivals
Boarding will commence at 1:30 pm for departure at 2 pm. The Decoy will return to Mends Street Jetty, South Perth at 5 pm.

If you are prepared to wait, there will be some small, but tasty items from the Decoy Galley including Arancini (chef made), Fish Goujons (chef made), Lamb Curry Pasties (chef made), Squid Rings (Kalis Bros), Fries (not chef made), and a Gelato selection.
